A 'Miss Vanvalkenburg' marries a James Smith, 1887, Otterville news
A "Miss Vanvalkenburg" marries a James Smith, 1887, Otterville news

A marriage record has not been found to correspond. No indication of where the bride was from, although the news item was posted in the Woodstock Review newspaper in reference to Otterville, in Oxford Co. The groom, being from "east of here" may have been from Norfolk Co.

This may be the marriage of Samuel James Smith and Cynthia Isobel Vollick. If so, Cynthia would have been young, about 15 years old. This couple seem to have started having children five years later.
