Upper Canada Land Petitions

pertain to Adam B. VV and wife Anna DIAMOND, DUE

Adam "B." VV married Anna Diamond the daughter of United Empire Loyalist John Diamond.  Their 1811 marriage took place in Fredericksburgh Township, the place where Diamond and his fellow Rogers' Rangers were granted land in 1784. By 1819, Adam "B." VV petitions for land from Kingston, where he states he is a mason, now wishing to lease land for farming in the Western Addition north-west of Kingston. His first petition was denied because the particular lot was reserved for clergy.  His second petition for the adjacent lot was granted.  By the 1830's he is a Road Warden for the area in the Western Addition near Sharpton. At this later time, wife Anna finally applies for the land granted to her as a DUE.
