John's signed affidavit that identified Adam as his father.

Brock District

           To wit )      John Vanvalkenburg of the

                                Town of Woodstock in Said

                                District _____ Deposeth and

Saith that he is a subscribing witness to

the anexed alegement and that he did

see the License duly executor signed and

sealed for the purpose there in mentioned

on the the day of the date thereof,  by the

therein mentioned Adam Vanvalkenburg.

Deponant further states that that

the said Adam Vanvalkenburg is his

refuted father and that the Deponant

is upwards of thirty one years of age and

has often and repeatedly heard the Said

Adam VanValkenburg State that he

Served as a private in one of the flank

                                the first regiment-

companys of the ^ Adington Militia during

the late war with the U.S. of America

then, Stationed at the Town of Kingston in

the Midland District and that he was entitled

to one hundred acres of Land from the

Government of the Province for the Said

Services, which services Deponant States he

verally believes that no doubt-but-was

Performed by him the said Adam Vanvalkenburg

Sworn before me (at the Town

of Woodstock) one of Her Majesty’s

Justices of the peace in and for said

District this the 9th day of March 1849.
