Summary: An original Crown grant of this lot (which includes VanVolkenburgh Island in Loughborough Lake), is signed over after the death of David VV, for one dollar, to eldest son Washington VV. The VV family, by this time, were living on a farm further south near Milburn in the 8th Concession (map). These two properties shown in green on the Storrington Twp. map. ============================ Land Registry, Frontenac Co., Storrington Twp., Reel # GSU1723916 Vol. 1 (1877-1880) No. 1653 13 Nov 1875 This Indenture in [made in] Duplicate the Thirteenth Day of November one thousand Eight hundred and Seventy Five In pursuance of the act respecting shortforms of Conveyances Between Lucy Van Volkinburgh of the Township of Storrington in the County Frontenac, Widow of the late David VanVolkinburgh of the same place yeoman, and Hezekiah Van Volkinburgh, Saphromy Vanvolkinburgh, Wellington Vanvolkinburgh and Diademy Vanvolkinburgh of the said Township of Storrington same? of the children and heirs at law of the said David Vanvolkingburgh, all unmarried of the first Part and Washington Vanvolkingurgh of the same place, yeoman of the second Part witnesseseth that in consideration of the sum of One Dollar of lawful money of Canada now paid by the said Party of the second Part to the said Parties of the first Part, the receipt whereof is hereby by these acknowledged, they the said Parties of the First Part doth Grant with the said Party of the second Part his heirs and assigns forever all and singular all their estate right, title to, and interest in that Certain parcel or tract of land and premises situate lying and being in the Township of Storrington in the County of Frontenac and Province of Ontario and being composed of Lot number twelve in the twelfth Concession of the said township of Storrington containing two hundred acres more or less, to have and to hold unto the said Party of the Second Part his heirs and assigns to and for his and their sole and only use forever subject nevertheless to the reservations, limitations, provisos and condition expressed in the original Grant thereof from the Crown. The said Parties of the First Part Covenant with the said Party of the second Part that they have the right to Convey the said lands to the said Party of the second Part, notwithstanding any act of the said Parties of the First Part, and that the said Party of the second Part shall have quiet? posession of the said lands free from all incumbrances and the said Parties of the first Part Covenant with the said Party of the second Part that they will execute such further assination? of the said lands as may be requisite and the said Parties of the first Part Covenant with the said Party of the second Part that they have done no act to encumber? the said lands, and the said Parties of the first Part Release to the said Party of the second Part all their claims upon the said lands. Minerva?
