Hannah VV d/o George & Rebecca m. Charles Wright [see tree]

This family is not yet connected to the official genealogy of the VanValkenburg family on the NAVVF site.

In coming months we will be adding photos and scans of original documents directly to individuals in each tree. (We welcome your help with this and you may use this form to contact us or to join this collaborative project as a Contributor).

This line was discovered from records for the West Lake Meeting (Quaker)... first a Rebecca VanWaltingburgh requesting membership in the Meeting in 1815, and then later, a daughter Hannah marrying Charles Wright.  The family can be followed on censuses (sometimes misspelled "Rite") and they lived near Deseronto close to the county line.  Their neighbours, such as the Sexsmiths, have been found in records for both Tyendinaga Twp. in Hastings Co. and Richmond Twp. in Lennox-Addington Co.

The origin of this George & Rebecca VV is uncertain, but Rebecca may be the same individual as Eunice Mattis who married a George VV in the same time period.  Or she may be related to that family as the Rebecca name is present in the Mattice family.
