Written by Sarah Clark Gardner in the 1940s to become part of the Battersea Women's Institute (Tweedsmuir) History collection. One anecdote that was not copied was concerning Hezekiah VV being a favourite of the local children; they remember he always had candies for them which sometimes took considerable time to produce from his pocket.
