GRAVE of Elizabeth Ferguson, "Mrs. VanValkenbury" (1837-1925)

William and Lizzie married later in life and it doesn't seem they had any children. Lizzie is the widowed "Mrs. Van" who lived near Huttonville for some years before retiring to Hornings Mills (according to a family letter collected by W.P. Bull). On her death record, the informant is William Yokum, a "grand nephew". On the 1911 census, Elizabeth is living with William Yokum and wife Sarah (Schoafe) and is stated to be an "aunt". Upon further investigation, she is indeed an aunt, but of Sarah Schoafe-Yokum. Sarah's mother was Mary Jane Ferguson, a sister of this Lizzie Ferguson-Van.

The "VanValkenbury" spelling was also supplied on the death record.
