Possibly the first VanValkenburgs in Canada - brought as captives during the Seven Years' War about 1758?

Excerpts from "New England Captives Carried to Canada between 1677 and 1760 During the French and Indian Wars (Vol. 1) by Emma L. Coleman, 1925. See more pages explaining context, ransoms and naturalizations.

These two (females) were taken from "the Province Lands west of Sheffield". They may be related to Jochem VV, interpreter to the Stockbridge Indians who was based in Nobletown/Hillsdale, NY a few miles west of Sheffield, Mass.
