The Research Collection of Paul E. VanValkenburgh, 3rd (b. 1926, Chicago)
concerning a branch of the John VV-Hannah Patterson Canadian line who moved to Owen Sound, Ontario, and ultimately to Chicago, IL.
The collected research books of Paul Edward Van Valkenburgh III
Paul Edward Van Valkenburgh III (b. 1926) did extensive research on the Van Valkenburgh Family that lived in New York--Ontario, Canada--Chicago, Illinois and later in Upper Michigan.
His family lines are the John VV-Hannah Patterson / Trompour / Soames families. Much of this research was done before the internet and the proliferation of the home PC. You can see that in his typewritten research notes, manuscripts and photocopies that he compiled and donated to various Ontario Genealogical Societies in Ontario, Canada.
Paul E. VV the Third, and his father, were past board members of the National Association of VanValkenburgh Families (NAVVF).
These notes are limited to Paul's own VV branch and do not include the many items of personal interviews, letters and newspaper inquiries he/his father had conducted in Eastern Ontario with descendants of all VV lines.
Letter written by John VV (1863-1951) of Cordova Mines, Ontario to Paul E. VV in 1935, in response to newspaper inquiry.
We were fortunate to receive these books and manuscripts as gifts some time ago directly from his descendants in Michigan. We have chosen to share them here so his research can be used for those who continue to look for that elusive family member in the greater Van Valkenburgh Family. We present them here, as is, the way that they were given to us.
Links to individual tabs, or chapters, are shown at right, as individual PDF documents for ease of reading and searching.
